What this is
PDF Editor Box is a set of 21 free tools for everyday PDF work: merging, splitting, compressing, converting, editing, signing, and protecting files. It is built by Phonate Technologies Private Limited.
Your files are never stored
Most PDF websites keep a copy of your file for a while after you use them and delete it later. We think a copy of your contract, bank statement, or ID should never sit on someone else's computer at all. So PDF Editor Box is built so that nothing is kept: your file is used only to produce your result, and once you download it, it is gone. That design also makes the tools fast and lets them work without limits or accounts.
What we care about
- Privacy that is true, not promised. Nothing is kept, so there is nothing to protect or delete.
- Few steps. Add a file, adjust one or two options, download. Sensible defaults do the rest.
- Honest output. We say clearly what each tool can and cannot do, for example that PDF to Word does not perform OCR on scans.
- Free for everyone. Ads outside the work area pay the bills. Features are never gated.
Open source foundations
The tools stand on excellent open source libraries, including Mozilla's PDF.js for rendering, pdf-lib for writing PDFs, pdfmake, mammoth, and docx for Word conversion, and Phosphor Icons for the interface.
